History of the Frederick Outlaws
The Frederick Outlaws were established in 2002 as the Montgomery County Bucks by founder Chuck Bennaugh and has
been a member of the Diamond Football League (DFL) and currently the East Coast Football Association (ECFA). The name was
changed in 2003 to the Frederick Outlaws and the logo was then changed to its present state. The ECFA is a network
of teams of semi-professional football teams located within the Mid Atlantic Region.
The teams consist of 60 players
who are not paid, but instead, pay to play the sport they love. The Outlaws pride themselves as an organization
that is willing and looks forward to helping young adults promote positive attitudes while enjoying the sport of football and
expanding their hopes and possibilities of playing at the next level, college or professional. The Outlaws
organization has won 4 League Titles, won 5 Conference Titles and won 6 Division Titles in a span of 7 years.
The ECFA is a non-profit organization whose teams annually rank high among the nations top semi-professional football
organizations. The conference schedule usually consists of a 10 game season with play-offs at seasons' end. The
Frederick Outlaws, in keeping compliance with the ECFA rules and standards, is also a non-profit
amateur organization. Team try-outs are conducted annually during the Fall and competition is fierce.
